The National Information Technology Board (NITB) launched the Hajj application, inaugurated by Caretaker IT Minister Dr. Umar Saif and Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed. In his welcome address, CEO NITB Babar Majeed Bhatti briefed participants about the app's features.

Dr. Umar Saif emphasized the country's accelerated digitalization under the Special Investment Facilitation Council's directives, considering the Hajj app's launch as a significant milestone. The app's key features include one-time password registration via SMS, providing unique IDs (CNIC and application number), personal information updates, and real-time application status tracking.

The application offers comprehensive information, such as personal/group/Mehram/helper details, additional facilities, Hajj dues, nominee information, bank details, and training schedules. Flight and accommodation details for Makkah and Madinah, along with the ability to submit complaints and inquiries, are also included.

The multilingual app initially supports Urdu and English, with more languages to follow. Dr. Umar Saif highlighted the offline map feature for route selection and location sharing. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed praised the Ministry of IT and NITB's efforts, emphasizing the necessity to modernize the Hajj system. He noted the app's potential to gauge pilgrims' true sentiments, serving as a centralized platform integrated with the Ministry's existing systems.

The Pak Hajj app is available for download on the Google Play Store and is not currently accessible on the Apple App Store.
