Apple is anticipated to introduce the fourth iteration of AirPods around the year 2024, coinciding with the release of the iPhone 16 series. The forthcoming AirPods 4 are expected to showcase a revamped design, featuring shorter stems.
Recent reports suggest that Apple may unveil two versions of the AirPods 4, each offered at distinct price points. Renowned tech analyst Gurman asserts that the current AirPods generation, priced at Rs 19,900, has not achieved the same level of commercial success as its predecessors. Consequently, the upcoming non-pro AirPods models are purported to supersede both AirPods 2 and AirPods 3.
The standard variant of AirPods 4 is predicted to incorporate active noise cancellation (ANC), transition from a Lightning port to a USB-C case, and include speakers for Find My alerts. Additionally, the aesthetics of AirPods 4 are expected to strike a balance between the current AirPods and AirPods Pro. The report mentions the possibility of shorter stems enhancing the earbuds' fitting, although the inclusion of silicone tips remains uncertain.
Regarding AirPods Max, Apple is speculated to unveil an updated version in the upcoming year, featuring new color options and a USB-C port. However, it is unlikely that this iteration will introduce novel software and hardware features. As for the AirPods Pro, a refresh is anticipated in 2025, focusing on improved comfort. Rumors also circulate about Apple exploring features such as body temperature measurement and an array of health tracking functionalities.
